Mary Ann (Molinari) Sotir, age 80, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Charlwell House in Norwood, Massachusetts. Born in Boston on January 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (DeGruttula) Molinari. Raised in the Roslindale neighborhood, Mary Ann graduated from Roslindale High School in 1962.
She married her loving husband, Charles Sotir, on October 18, 1964, at Holy Trinity Church in South Boston. They made their home in Norwood and welcomed their first daughter, Lisa. As their family grew, they moved to South Walpole, where they enjoyed putting down roots and celebrating the joy of family life with their second daughter, Stacey. Traveling was a favorite activity for Mary Ann and Charles—they often explored tropical destinations like Bermuda, Aruba, and Hawaii, usually bringing both girls along for the adventure. Back at home in Walpole, Mary Ann loved expressing her creativity by making curtains, sewing clothes for her daughters, and crafting items for her grandchildren.
Once settled in Walpole, Mary Ann took a job as a secretary with SAHM in Boston. She later worked at Heartland Drug, but after losing her husband unexpectedly in 1986, she found a position with Orthopedic and Sports Medicine. A few years later, she sold her home and moved to Swan Pond neighborhood. In 1991, she joined Dental Associates of Walpole as the Pediatric Unit Coordinator, a role she cherished for 22 wonderful years before retiring in 2013.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann was deeply committed to raising awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. She participated in walk-a-thons, hosted fundraising events at her home, and never stopped advocating for the cause. While she loved staying active, she also enjoyed quiet moments curling up with a good romance novel and getting lost in a captivating story.
Above all, Mary Ann treasured her time with family. She was overjoyed to be called Nana, and she spent countless hours creating precious memories with her grandchildren.
