Mary J. Driscoll

November 8, 1929 — March 31, 2021

Mary J. (Baldassari) Driscoll, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in her parent's Walpole, Massachusetts home on November 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Scali) Baldassari.  She was raised in Walpole, where she graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1948.  Following her graduation, Mary continued her education, earning her associate's degree at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in 1950.

Mary began her career working as a secretary with IBM before taking a position with American Standard, working as a secretary for her soon to be husband, James P. Driscoll.  Mary and James were married on November 27, 1954, and together they made their home in Walpole.  Once the couple began welcoming their children, Mary took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family.  As a dedicated homemaker, Mary loved decorating her home to make it her own.  She was also a tremendous cook and looked forward to hosting family dinners every Sunday.  After her children had grown up, Mary returned to the working world, taking the chef's position for Ernie Boch in Norwood, a position she won with a loaf of her homemade bread.  While Mary stayed busy, she took some time to enjoy herself on the tennis courts at EconoTennis in Walpole.

Nothing made Mary happier than being surrounded by those she loved.  As her children moved out of her home, they always returned home for Sunday dinners, a tradition that carried through many years in her Walpole home.  She was delighted at the birth of her grandchildren, quickly finding spots for them all at her table.

Beloved wife of the late James P. Driscoll.
Loving mother of James Driscoll of Hartford, Connecticut, Paula Driscoll of Medfield, Maureen Leveroni of Barnstable, John Driscoll of Medfield, Anne Mary Campbell of Norwood, and the late Marita A. Driscoll Halesworth.
Cherished grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Sister of Paul Baldassari of California, the late Dominic Baldassari, and the late Dina Morgana.

As a result of the ongoing and ever-developing health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people whom they love, Mary's family has decided that her funeral services will be private, with interment taking place in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
