Mary "Terry" Ferraris

August 1, 1948 — March 13, 2020

Mary “Terry” (Fry) Ferraris, age 71, passed away peacefully in the Norwood Hospital on Friday, March 13, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Denver, Colorado on August 1, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (McMahon) Fry.  She spent her early years in Denver before moving with her family to Canon City in 1962.  Terry attended Canon City High School, where she was a member of the Theatre Club.  Following her graduation in 1966, Terry enrolled in the University of Denver, earning her bachelor’s degree with a focus on psychology in 1970.

Terry met her soon to be husband, Albert H. Ferraris, on a blind date after being set up by friends.  They were married on June 8, 1970 in the Chapel of the University of Denver and began their life together traveling throughout the country as Al was on active duty in the United States Air Force.  One of their first stops was Oklahoma where the young couple welcomed their first child, Michael.  The family’s travel continued making a home in Texas, Ohio and later in New Mexico, where they welcomed their second child, Angella.  While living in New Mexico, Terry put her degree to work, taking a counseling position with the county, in addition to teaching in a local Catholic School and pursuing her master’s degree in psychology at the University of Northern Colorado.  Following Al’s discharge from the Air Force in 1982, Terry and her family headed to the east coast, making their home together in Norfolk, Massachusetts, where she and Al welcomed their third child, Nicole.  Terry jumped into her new community, working as a piano teacher and taking a sales position with Silver Burdette Publishing.  However, it was her own faith that led her to her to become an active member in the Catholic Church.  Terry’s religious career began in Saint Jude’s Church in 1985 and later included Saint Edward the Confessor Church in Medfield.  She served as the religious education coordinator for more than twenty-six years before her retirement in 2011.

While Terry was passionate about her faith, she also had a passion for music.  As a woman who was musically inclined, she enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and guitar.  In addition to performing, Terry loved listening to music and dancing with her daughter, Nicole, with whom she shared a beautiful relationship.  As an avid traveler, Terry visited many locations in the United States and across the world.  Back at home, Terry enjoyed some quiet time too, quilting, knitting, crocheting, or relaxing with a favorite book.

Beloved wife of Albert H. “Al” Ferraris.
Loving mother of Michael A. Ferraris of West Kingstown, Rhode Island, Angella M. Daigle of Sterling, and Nicole L. Osland of Morgantown, West Virginia.
Cherished grandmother of 8.
