Michael Philip Kelly

Michael Philip Kelly, age 60, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Milford Regional Hospital in Milford, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 5, 1965, he was the son of Ronald Patrick and Catherine Frances (Doherty) Kelly.

Mike was raised in Norfolk, Massachusetts, where he attended the local public schools and was an accomplished athlete in his youth. An exceptional ice hockey, baseball and tennis player, he was a standout hockey player for King Philip Regional High School, where he graduated with the class of 1983.

After high school, Mike ventured to the Midwest. He first landed in Denver, Colorado, reuniting with his close childhood friend John Kinlin, helping him with his landscaping business. In his late twenties Mike would move to Chicago, Illinois, where he became a trader on the Commodity Exchange. Mike returned to Norfolk in his thirties, happy to be back in his hometown. He then took a position with the MBTA as a Carman on the Green Line, shuttling riders to their desired destinations. After some time as a Carman, Mike accepted the opportunity to join the light rail maintenance division. He was a loyal MBTA employee for 23 years.

Mike had a passion for sports his entire life. As he grew older, he fell in love with the game of golf. Many hours were spent on the greens at the Glen Ellen Country Club in Millis MA. If Mike was not working or playing golf, he was watching sports. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots fan and enjoyed attending any sporting event that he could.

Beloved devoted son of Catherine Frances (Doherty) Kelly of Norfolk, and the late Ronald Patrick Kelly.

Loving brother of Kevin Kelly and his wife Mary of Monument Beach, MA.

Cherished uncle of Ryan Kelly and his wife Marly, Brendan Kelly and his wife Jayme, and Connie Kelly, all of Cumberland, Rhode Island. Great Uncle of five nieces and one nephew.

Also survived by many extended relatives and friends.

At the request of Mike's family, all services will be private, with burial taking place at Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
