Nevio C. Di Nanno, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Filetto, Italy on July 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Rocco and Angiolina (Ricci) Di Nanno. He was raised in Filetto where, as a young boy, he trained to become a tailor. Nevio worked as a tailor in both Rome and Turin before leaving his home country for Germany, taking a position in a factory at the age of 20. While living in Germany, Nevio worked various jobs while saving money to immigrate to the United States of America.
Nevio was introduced to Maria L. Gioioso, his wife-to-be, while on a return trip to his hometown. In May of 1969, at the age of 30, Nevio crossed the Atlantic Ocean to join Maria in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Nevio and Maria were married on October 25th of that same year. After settling into his new home country, Nevio found work as a tailor in Boston. Maria and Nevio made their home in Roslindale, where they owned and ran a pizza shop in the 1980s. operating it as Nevio's Place. In 1996, he and his family moved to Norwood, Massachusetts where he returned to one of his many trades and worked as a welder until he retired.
Nevio was a history buff and an avid fisherman. He was also a passionate soccer fan who closely followed his favorite team Juventus. Most of all, Nevio was dedicated to his wife and daughter, treasuring the time he spent with both of them in his home that was always filled with music and warm, spirited conversation.

Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Nevio's visitation on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 3 to 7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.
All are invited to gather in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM prior to Nevio's Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 549 Washington Street, Norwood at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
