Patricia A. Baker

August 27, 1947 — July 30, 2022

Patricia A. (Pearo) Baker, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at her home in East Walpole, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 27, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Raymond G. and Mary Teresa (Madden) Pearo.  She was raised in Malden, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1965.  Patricia continued her education, earning her certificate from the Stenotype Institute of Boston.  Following her graduation, Patricia took a position with the Boston Music Company, working in the administrative office.

While working at Boston Music, Patricia met her husband to be, John R. Baker, before leaving to take a position with Malden City Hospital.  Patricia and John were married on September 30, 1967, at Saint Joseph's Church in Malden.  The young couple initially made their home together in Everett before moving to Hyde Park a short time later.  As Patricia welcomed her children, she took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.  In 1974, she and John moved their family out of the city, making their home in the quiet suburban town of Walpole.  After her third child was born Patricia returned to work taking a night position with Factory Mutual in Norwood. After settling into their home in East Walpole in 1982, Patricia's career brought her to customer service, taking a position with Yankee Sales in Norwood.  She later spent a short time at BarterMax in Sharon, before taking a customer service position with Bird Roofing, remaining with the company through the CertainTeed buyout.  More recently, Patricia took a position with Hartney Greymont, a division of Davey Tree, in Needham, where she worked until her retirement in May of this year.

After settling in Walpole, Patricia became a member of the Emblem Club in Norwood, gathering with friends for meetings and events.  She especially looked forward to spending a weekend at Sea Crest in Falmouth for the annual state convention.  Back at home, Patricia was an avid reader, always on the lookout for a new mystery book by Marie Force, as well as catching up on her soap operas, Hallmark movies, and her favorite reality television shows.

Most of all, Patricia loved being surrounded by her family.  As a young mother, she and John enjoyed escaping to her family's camp in Kingston, New Hampshire for a summer vacation with their three children.  When it came to the holidays, Christmas was always her favorite. She was well known for making her cinnamon horns and fudge. She most enjoyed  spending time at home with friends and family .
