Patricia M. Burns

April 29, 1938 — December 12, 2021

Patricia M. Burns, age 83, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 29, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Chester F. Ellis and Alice P. (Mahoney) Corrigan. She was raised in Jamaica Plain by her mother, Alice, and her stepfather, William Corrigan, where she graduated from Jamaica Plain High School with the Class of 1955. Following her graduation, Patricia took a position as a medical secretary and made her home in Hyde Park.

Patricia married her beloved husband, Edward G. Burns, on May 23, 1959. Together, they made their home in Walpole, Massachusetts, where Patricia took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family. As her children grew up, Patricia returned to her working career, taking a receptionist's position with McDonald's Corporate Headquarters in Westwood.

Throughout her life, Patricia loved listening to music and spending time in her kitchen, preparing meals for her family to enjoy. She cultivated fresh ingredients from her meticulously maintained garden, where she spent countless hours tending to each plant, gaining plenty of knowledge along the way. Patricia was always ready for a lively conversation about history or current events, but enjoyed some quiet time as well, relaxing with a favorite book. Most of all, she was devoted to her family, treasuring the moments she spent surrounded by those she loved so dearly, including her dog, Maggie.
