Patricia "Patti" Louise (Powers) Concannon, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Born in Boston on May 9, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Neil M. and Patricia L. (Raftery) Powers.
Patti grew up in Mattapan, where she graduated from Fontbonne Academy. After moving to South Walpole, she became a familiar and beloved face at the South Walpole Post Office, where she served as Postmaster. She and her husband, Tim, settled in the "boondocks," where they were blessed with many years of good times with family and friends.
Patti shared a devoted marriage of 46 years with her husband, Coleman "Timmy" Concannon. Together, they were a true team, often enjoying indoor picnic date nights and dancing around their home. Much of their lives centered around summers in Maine, a tradition that began in Patty's earliest years, when she vacationed as a youngster in Fryeburg, Maine, and Brownfield, Maine, and most especially at Sabattus Pond in Greene, Maine, where she brought friends and family together to create so many wonderful memories. In her later years, those Maine summers continued, where Patti “Chiefy” wouldn't choose anyone other than Timmy as her partner for a game of whist on the deck.
In her earlier years, Patti was a familiar and welcoming presence to many neighborhood children and families. Her home was often considered "the place to be." She taught CCD, led Girl Scouts, planned activities, organized fundraisers, and rarely missed a school event or game. She especially loved throwing surprise parties and took great joy in catching the guest of honor completely off guard. Patti had a particular soft spot for anyone going through a hard time and would step in to help without being asked.
Patti worked for many years for the United States Postal Service. Outside of work, she enjoyed life's simple pleasures: listening to Rod Stewart, sunbathing whenever she could (often with her plastic beach chair in tow), banana torte, and never being far from a Dunkin' iced coffee, no matter the season or time of day. One of her favorite holiday traditions was decorating the Christmas tree while Andy Williams' Christmas albums played in the background. Her dogs, especially Hershey and Tazz, brought her comfort and companionship throughout her life.
Survivors include her husband, Coleman "Timothy" Concannon of Walpole; her two children, Katherine "Katie" Concannon of Watertown and Timothy "Tim" Concannon and his wife Athena of Wakefield; and her two grandchildren, Mia and Nicholas Concannon of Wakefield.
She is also survived by her sister, Sheila M. Dubrawski and her husband Edward of Medway; her sister-in-law Kathy Lewis of Rockland; brothers- and sisters-in-law James Concannon and his wife Janice of Taunton, Paul Concannon of Dorchester, and Noreen Scott and her husband Joseph of Biddeford, Maine; her nieces Kelly Kennedy and her husband William of Medway and Donna Dubrawski of Medway; her nephew Neil Carr of Medford; Goddaughter Molly Scott and many more nieces and nephews of the extended Concannon family. She was the sister of the late Christine Carr and sister-in-law of the late Colleen Dalton and John Concannon.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Patti's visitation on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 6:00 pm. Interment will take place privately.
