Patricia M. Marchand

May 14, 1955 — December 19, 2018

Patricia M. (Buttimer) Marchand, age 63, passed away in the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, Massachusetts on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on May 14, 1955, she was the daughter of John H. and Marjorie F. (Simpson) Buttimer.  As a young girl, she was raised on Sunny Rock Farm on North Street in Walpole, where she worked daily with her family both on the farm and in the store.  As a life-long resident of Walpole, Patti graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1973.

Patti married her beloved husband, Norman D. Marchand, on April 21, 1974 in the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Walpole.  Together they made their home in Walpole, where they welcomed their three children, Christopher, Stephanie, and Samantha.  Patti spent a short time working at Norwood Hospital in the food service department, before returning to her family’s farm, where she took over the operation of the farm store.  Working alongside her father, John, she was responsible for all the cooking of the items that were sold.  In the fall of 1998, Patti took a position with All Season Food Service, working at Catholic Memorial High School.  The school eventually asked Patti to run their food service program, which Patti gladly took over and oversaw until March of this year.

While Patti maintained a very busy work schedule, she did enjoy taking time off to travel.  She took trips with her family to Ireland, Hawaii, in addition to making several trips down south.  Patti and Norman also enjoyed taking several cruises in the Caribbean over the years.  However, her favorite place to visit was their vacation home in Laconia, New Hampshire.  She spent countless hours boating on the lake and exploring the area.  Most of all, Patti was devoted to her family.  She treasured the time that she was surrounded by those she loved most and was especially delighted when she welcomed her grandchildren into the family.

Beloved wife of Norman D. Marchand.
Loving mother of Christopher J. Marchand and his wife Melissa of Plainville, Stephanie J. Kinahan and her husband John of Plainville, and Samantha A. Firth and her husband Clifford of Norwood.
Cherished grandmother of Jacob, John, Ryan, Brooklyn, and Matthew.
Devoted daughter of Marjorie F. (Simpson) Buttimer of Walpole and the late John H. Buttimer.
Sister of Elizabeth F. Buttimer-Caplan of Canton, the late Richard G. Buttimer, and the late Nancy E. Troiano.
