Paul James Corboy, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 3, 1941, he was the son of the late Philip and Carrie E. (Jones) Corboy. Paul was raised in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, where he graduated from Jamaica Plain High School with the class of 1959. Following his graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country at the start of the Vietnam War. He was stationed aboard the USS Bache and was deployed at sea for over two years. Paul was honorably discharged in June of 1962, having earned the rank of Petty Officer Third Class.

Upon Paul's return home to Jamaica Plain, he worked in various capacities, including as a milkman, a postman, and at a local hospital. He went on to apply for a position with the Boston Police Department and was appointed in 1965. Two years later, on October 28, 1967, Paul married his beloved wife, Margaret Mary Raeke, at Saint John's Church in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. The young couple initially made their home in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston and Paul began taking courses at Boston State College to earn his bachelor's degree. In 1970, Paul and Margaret left the city, settling in the small suburban town of East Walpole, Massachusetts. Paul always valued his education, returning to Boston State in later years to earn his master's degree.

With a growing career and family, Paul and Margaret were afforded an opportunity to move across town, making their home in Walpole proper in 1991. Paul retired from the Police Department in 2000, with thirty-five years of dedicated service to the citizens of Boston. In his retirement, Paul continued to give back, serving as a court officer in both Boston and Providence, Rhode Island.

Throughout his life, Paul remained an avid Boston sports fan, closely following the Celtics and the Red Sox. However, more than anything, Paul was devoted to his family. He looked forward to spending time with his children, Jean, and Matthew, and loved getting together with his siblings and their children.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret Mary (Raeke) Corboy.

Loving father of Jean Marie Corboy and Matthew Paul Corboy, both of Walpole.

Brother of Philip Corboy of Arizona, Eileen "Honey" Antonides of New Jersey, Dennis Corboy of West Roxbury, and the late John Corboy.

Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

At the request of Paul's family, all funeral services will be held privately, with interment taking place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
