June 28, 1926 — August 17, 2019

Paul DeChellis, 93, passed away peacefully in the Meadows Health Center at Edgewood in North Andover, Mass., on Saturday, August 17, 2019.  Born in Walpole, Mass., on June 28, 1926, he was the son of the late Philip and Angela (Vella) DeChellis.  He was raised in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School.

Following graduation Paul took an entry-level position in the flooring industry, working with Bird and Sons, which eventually became Amtico, the flooring division of American Biltrite. A loyal employee, he remained with the same company his entire career and retired in 1996 as a national sales manager.

He married his beloved wife, Audrey Woods, in Walpole, Mass., in 1947 where eventually they welcomed two children, Peter and Paula. They moved all over the country as Paul moved up the corporate ladder, driven by his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. Over the years they lived in Virginia, California, Connecticut, and Kansas, finally settling in Medfield, Mass.

Throughout his life, Paul loved sports and especially enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.  As a young man he enjoyed running and staying in shape.  He always enjoyed working around the house and especially took a lot of pride in having a well-manicured yard. Most of all, Paul was a dedicated family man, who treasured the moments surrounded by those he loved.
