Paul Lazzaro

September 24, 1954 — December 30, 2022

Paul Lazzaro, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2022.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 24, 1954, he was raised in Norwood, where he attended Saint Catherine's School before graduating from Norwood High School with the Class of 1973.  Following his graduation, Paul went to work alongside his father and brothers at Village Service Center in Brookline, learning about all aspects of mechanics’ work. In the early 1980s, Paul began operating several Exxon Stations.  More recently, he opened Route 1 Automotive and Tire in Plainville.

Paul married his beloved wife, Jane M. Cusack, on May 9, 1976, in Saint Catherine of Sienna Church in Norwood.  Paul and Jane raised their four children, Kate, Sara, David, and Amy in Walpole.

Throughout his life, Paul loved to stay active and remain physically fit.  He ran the Boston Marathon several times, competed in numerous triathlons and earned his black belt in Karate. One of Paul’s great accomplishments was completing the IRONMAN triathlon in Lake Placid. His laugh was infectious, and he never missed an opportunity for a dance party or karaoke.

Most of all, Paul was dedicated to and loved his family. The legacy he has created is remarkable. He was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our “Grampy,” as he was called by his grandchildren, was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was superman, made of steel.

Beloved husband of Jane M. (Cusack) Lazzaro.

Loving father of Kate Anderson and her husband, Mike, of Wrentham, Sara Lazzaro and her fiancé, Matt Larson, of Foxborough, David Lazzaro of Norwood, and Amy Alexander and her husband, Rob, of Walpole.

Cherished grandfather of William Anderson, Nora Anderson, Ben Minghella, Mia Lazzaro, Jack Lazzaro, Charlie Lazzaro, Matthew Alexander, Aiden Alexander, and Quinn Alexander.

Devoted son of the late Robert G. and Mary J. (Kilduff) Lazzaro; and son-in-law of Jacqueline Cusack of Walpole and the late Robert Cusack.

Brother of Robert Lazzaro Jr. and his wife, Roberta, of North Carolina, Jean Lodge and her husband, William, of Wrentham, Gerard Lazzaro and his wife, Jane, of Walpole, Carol Hopkins and her husband, Joseph, of East Walpole, and Neil Lazzaro and his wife, Lisa, of Milford.

Brother-in-law of Robert Cusack of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Anne Cusack of Walpole, Donald Cusack and his wife, Cathy, of Natick, and David Cusack and his wife, Laura, of Stoughton.

Also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
