Peter Navis

Peter Navis, age 74, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Boston on October 5, 1951, Peter was raised in Millis, where he graduated from Millis High School with the class of 1970. Following his graduation he enrolled in Boston Trade School, learning the mechanics of the plumbing field. He worked for several companies working hard to earn his master's license, accelerating his career.

Peter married his beloved wife, Mary Lee Kenney on June 7, 1975, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary last year. The young couple settled in Walpole where they welcomed two children, Kate and Chris. After working several years and building his knowledge of the plumbing field, Peter set out on his own, forming Navis Plumbing Company from his home in Walpole. His attention to detail led him to take the position of Assistant Plumbing Inspector in Medfield, serving the town for nearly twenty years.

Throughout his life, Peter was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following all the New England teams with friends and family. As a teenager, Peter served as a baseball coach in his hometown of Millis. After making his home in Walpole, Peter, in his everlasting competitive spirit, joined the ranks of the Little League program. Not only coaching his own children, but countless other players over the years.

Above all, Peter was a devoted family man who truly cherished the time spent with loved ones. They spent many summers on the Cape with their children, extended family and friends. Peter enjoyed being a dad, sharing his passion for sports, and helping his kids learn to cast their lines and catch a "big" fish. Becoming a "Grampy" was especially meaningful to him. He was so excited and proud of his new "team". He loved them dearly.

Loving father of Katelyn L. McChesney and her husband, Richard of Attleboro and Christopher P. Navis and his wife, Nicole of West Boylston.

Cherished grandfather of Keegan and Tucker Navis and Caleb McChesney.

Brother of Edward Navis of Quincy, Barbara Hartford of Cumberland, RI, Mary Alexander of Hanson, Margaret Ciavola and her husband Paul of Franklin and Kathleen Lannon and her husband Bert of Millis. Brother-in-law of Phyllis Wallace of Dedham.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lest we forget his fierce protector, Poppy.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Peter's visitation on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole.

All are invited to gather in the funeral home on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026, at 9:00 am prior to Peter's Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place privately at the request of Peter's family.
