Peter J. Trahan

Peter J. Trahan, age 72, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 25, 1953, he was the son of the late Lucien and Marie (Langlais) Trahan. He was raised in Plainville, Massachusetts and attended King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham. After completing his education, Pete spent many years at Lifeworks, Inc, working alongside colleagues and friends.

Throughout his life, Pete was an avid Boston sports fan, with the Red Sox always reigning supreme. He frequently went to see the Pawtucket Red Sox and in July 2022, along with his brother-in-law, Roger Lepire, Pete caught a Woosox game at the new Polar Park Stadium in Worcester. Trips to games were not always uneventful. On a bus trip to a Red Sox – Yankees game at the old Yankee Stadium, the bus broke down in the Bronx on the way back to MA. Pete arrived home safely about 2 am, enjoying the whole experience. In March of 2025, Pete, with his friend, Baby Schwartz, attended his last Boston Bruins game at the TD Garden, loving every minute of the action.

Pete enjoyed time with his family too, picking the perfect seat in the middle of the Herring Run along Cape Cod Canal. Watching the boats pass for hours and grabbing quick naps, Pete was in His Happy Place. Afterwards, he looked forward to getting fried whole belly clams at Seafood Sam's. In the off season, Pete loved getting his whole belly clams at The Red Wing Diner in nearby Walpole. Vacations were a special treat, traveling with his family to cruise the coast of Alaska, to visit Disney World in Florida, and to catch a Red Sox game at Camden Yards in Baltimore.

Peter was a special individual who befriended everyone he encountered. It did not matter who you were or where you came from, Pete loved automatically and unconditionally. His willingness to strike up a friendly conversation with those he knew and those he didn’t was the source of light in every room he was in. Pete was an animal lover, keeping the bird feeders full at the group home, then watching the birds come to feast, or playing with the family dogs.

Devoted son of the late Lucien and Marie (Langlais) Trahan.

Loving brother of Pamela A. Nelson of Attleboro, Paula J. Dahl and her husband, Tim, of Forest, Virginia, and the late Patricia E. Lepire and her surviving husband, Roger, of Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Cherished uncle of Kristen, Erik, Crystal, Rebecca, Amy, Sarah, and Alex.

Also survived by the loving staff and wonderful friends at his Mirimichi Home in Plainville.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Peter's Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Saint Martha's Church, 221 South Street, Plainville on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Plainville Cemetery.
