Richard Albert Malone, age 65, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at VA Hospital in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. Born on September 2, 1959, he was the son of Albert D. and Helene F. Malone. Richie graduated from Walpole High in the late 1970s, served as a Private in the United States Army, and held a variety of jobs over the course of his life including as a landscaper, a painter, and clerk at the Honey Baked Ham Store.
Richie loved the great outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed country music and western movies, often relaxing with a John Wayne film, bottle of Budweiser in one hand and his Crown Red cigarettes in the other. As a young man Richie rode Harley Davidson motorcycles and he always admired the bikes he saw around town, his love for them never fading.
Richie was fiercely independent and did not like to accept help from others, even when he was down on his luck, choosing instead to embrace what the universe brought to him and making do as best he could. He was thankful to the community that offered him support and as a result made many friends around town. Richie enjoyed spending time with others, laughing and sharing stories. A one of a kind man, Richie will truly be missed.
