Robert Eugene Pellowe

Robert Eugene Pellowe, age 90, passed away in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Thursday, May 14th, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on March 23rd, 1930, he was the son of the late James and Gertrude A. (Griffin) Pellowe. He was raised in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School with the Class of 1948. Following his graduation, Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country.
Robert married his beloved wife, Barbara L. Johnson, on October 22, 1955, and as he was still on active duty with the Air Force, the young couple made their home in various locations across the United States, and England. He was honorably discharged in 1971 as a Senior Master Sergeant, after 22 years of dedicated service.
Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Robert and Barbara made their home in Walpole.
After leaving the Air Force and settling in Walpole, he worked many years at Helix Technologies in Waltham and Mansfield. He then enjoyed part time work with Barbara at The Auto Auction.
He was active in square dancing with Barbara, and volunteer work with veteran’s groups. He was very interested in local history and sharing his knowledge of it.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara L. (Johnson) Pellowe.
Loving father of Ronald E. Pellowe of Sharon and Steven R. Pellowe of Walpole.
Cherished grandfather of Megan, Jaime-Lea, Christopher, Christa, Corinne, and the late Brandan; and great grandfather of Braedan, Harper, Ben and Alex.
Bob loved travel, meeting new people, exploring the country and most of all his family.
He enjoyed gardening, inventing ways to do things, and expressed great satisfaction with his life journey.
As a result of the ongoing health crisis in the world and our community and with genuine concern for the well-being of all involved, Robert's family has decided that his funeral services will be private. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Homes For Our Troops, 6 Main St, Taunton, MA 02780 (web site: www.hfotusa.org).
