Roberta L. Cadoret, age 80, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Massachusetts. Born in Portland, Maine on June 28, 1945, she was the daughter of Waldron “Jack” Lewis Gardner and Mildred E. (Nelsen) Kelley.
Roberta was raised in Portland, attended the local public schools and was an active member of the Chestnut Street Methodist Church. Following high school graduation and throughout her life, Roberta worked for a variety of companies in secretarial, customer service, contract, and rebate roles. Those companies included Kendal, Tyco, and Covidien.
On October 21, 1978, Roberta married Eugene A. Cadoret in a ceremony held at the Chestnut Street Methodist Church. The pair resided in Walpole, Massachusetts and made their new spiritual home at the United Church in Walpole. Roberta was a beloved member of the church, making many friends and memories. She will be fondly remembered, with gratitude, for her generous gifts of handicrafts as well as her open arms and welcoming care for everyone, especially children and elders.
Roberta was the beloved wife of the late Eugene A. Cadoret, the loving sister of Robert Gardner and his wife Pat of Saco, Maine, Kathy Kelley Ausmus of Paris, Texas, and the late Rollins Kelley, Jr.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Waldron “Jack” Lewis Gardner, and the late Mildred E. (Nelsen) Kelley; granddaughter of the late Robert and Mary Nelsen, niece of the late Lorraine Gillies and the late Roberta Nelsen. Roberta is survived by her cousins Melodie Nelsen Foster and Marilyn Nelsen Stetson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
Roberta will be cherished and remembered, with love, as an honorary grandmother by many, many children now grown.
At Roberta’s request, all services were held privately, with arrangements made by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
