Robinson H. "Bob" Morales

October 17, 1922 — January 27, 2021

Robinson H. "Bob" Morales, age 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his son's home in Stoughton, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Lajas, Puerto Rico on October 17, 1922, he was the son of the late Ramon and Sofia (Santiago) Morales.  He was raised and educated in New York, later settling in Dorchester, Massachusetts.  As the United States began to escalate their role in World War II, Bob enlisted in the United States Army.  He was attached to the Headquarters and Service Company, 311th Engineer Combat Battalion, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations.  Bob was honorably discharged from the Army in March of 1946, having earned the rank of Private First Class.

Upon his return home from the Army, Bob settled in Boston, first in the Savin Hill area and later in Hyde Park.  After meeting his wife to be, Mary J. Giorgio, Bob made his home in Dedham, Massachusetts, where the couple lived for five years.  In 1962, Bob and Mary moved their family to the west coast, making their home in San Leandro, California.  Three years later, they returned to the east coast, settling in the small suburban town of Walpole, Massachusetts.  After moving into their home, Bob took a position with the Carpenter's Union, Local 67.  He worked hard for 50 years with the union, serving as a foreman before his retirement.

While Bob stayed busy with the union, he also maintained a busy social calendar.  He was a longtime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) in Norwood, the VFW in Norwood, and the American Legion in Norwood.  He looked forward to attending all their social gathering and dances with his wife, Mary, on his arm.  In addition to his organized social calendar, Bob enjoyed playing a sporadic round of golf with his good friends.

Back at home, Bob was a very talented woodworker, making many intricate doll houses over the years.  He was featured in the local paper for his hard work, as his doll houses were always perfect.  When he wasn't in his workshop, Bob could be found helping Mary entertain their guests around their backyard pool or relaxing in his favorite chair, cheering for his beloved Boston Red Sox.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Josephine (Giorgio) Morales.
Loving father of Debbie Lafleur and her husband, Paul, of Sharon, Joanmarie Heustis of Walpole, Paul Morales and his wife, Teresa, of Stoughton, and Robert Morales and his wife, Margie, of Florida.
Cherished grandfather of Tom Morales, Derek Morales, Holly Ann Shea, and Kimberly Morales, and great grandfather of five.
Brother of the late Raymond Morales.

As a result of the ongoing and ever developing health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people whom they love, Bob's family has decided that his funeral services will be private, with interment taking place in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The ARC of South Norfolk 41 Clappboardtree Street Westwood, MA 02090.

Arrangements by James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, Walpole.
