Ruddy Pierre Antoine Ligonde

Ruddy Pierre-Antoine Ligonde, passed away on May 1, 2024, at the Good Samaritan medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was born to Yolande Pierre-Antoine and Jean-Marie Etzwald Ligonde on August 24,1960 in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. He would migrate to the United States in 1979.

Ruddy was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, class of 1984, He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry and worked in that field for many years. In service to the Haitian Community, he also worked as an interpreter.

In 2009, Ruddy married the love of his life, Marie-Carmelle Ligonde. Together, they raised two charming children, Angelina, and Andrew. Ruddy’s role as a father and husband was his greatest joy. He was fiercely protective of his nuclear family and worked diligently to meet their needs. He was never too tired to tutor his children and to spend time with them. He loved teaching them how to ride their bicycles and helping them with their homework every night. No matter how tired Ruddy was after a long day at work, he would always find the energy to spend time with his family. Whether it was dancing on the deck with his beautiful wife or snuggling on the sofa with his kids, every moment was precious to Ruddy.

Ruddy loved cowboy ‍movies and soccer. He played soccer throughout high school and college always on a Haitian League. Ruddy was proud of his Haitian Heritage; so much so that he used to tutor new Haitian immigrants to the United States in English. He had such a great sense of humor and found away to bring laughter to those around him even in the saddest moments.

Predeceased by his father, mother, eldest son Ruddy Pierre-Antoine Ligonde, Jr., aunt and uncle Andre and Marie Claire Elie. Ruddy leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and service. He is survived by so many who loved him and to whom he was devoted. These include his devoted wife, Marie Carmelle; his children, Angelina and Andrew; his mother-in law, Carmelle Francois, his cherished siblings, the Ligonde’s, Pierre-Antoine’s, Belizaires’ and St. Fleurose. It would be a dishonor to Ruddy’s memory to not acknowledge the love he felt for his cousins, the Elie’s, Barosy’s and Ligonde’s and his brothers-in laws, the Francois’ and the Duplessis’. He will also be missed by his many nephews and nieces.
Also survived by many other loved ones, friends, and colleagues.
