Sandra Hill Muse

Sandra Hill (Carberry) Muse, age 74, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on December 19, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Barbara A. (Martin) Carberry. Sandy was raised in East Walpole, Massachusetts and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1969. Following her graduation, Sandy took a position with the Foxboro Company, working as a materials planner.

Sandy married her beloved husband, Mark A. Muse, on June 10, 1972, at the Union Congregational Church in East Walpole. The young couple made their home together in Walpole, before settling in North Attleborough, Massachusetts three years later. As Sandy welcomed her two children, Evan and Casey, she transitioned into the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. She went on to open her doors to other children in her neighborhood, caring for them as if they were her own.

As Sandy's children grew up, she began taking medical secretarial courses at Fisher College in Attleboro. She applied her newly acquired skills at the Guild Medical Building in Norwood, taking a position with Dr. Weinstein, serving as his medical secretary. Sandy went on to work with Dr. Horan in Foxborough for many years, before retiring.

Throughout her life, Sandy enjoyed the occasional girl’s day with her family or friends, hunting for the best deals or perfect presents during a shopping extravaganza. As a girly girl, Sandy took whatever she bought and turned it into something pretty and elegant, perfect for her home. Her home was filled with everything beautiful, complete with plants and flowers that Sandy expertly maintained and manicured. Some of her favorite plants and flowers included roses, lilacs, poinsettias, spider plants, and aloe plants. After her chores of caring for her home and her plants were complete, Sandy enjoyed unwinding by watching her favorite episodes of NCIS.

More than anything, Sandy was devoted to her family. In her younger years, she and Mark looked forward to ski trips to Killington, Vermont, renting a chalet with friends for an entire month. Sandy passed on her love for the snow-covered mountains to her children, trekking north to teach them how to ski when they were young. The summer months were always filled with adventure, packing up the camper to visit destinations up and down the east coast. Some of the memorable trips were to Bush Gardens in Virginia and Disney World in Florida. Back in Massachusetts, Sandy and Mark took the boys to Cape Cod almost every weekend, setting up the campsite for a few days of fun. In more recent years, Sandy and Mark enjoyed date nights, visiting local restaurants, especially the Horse and Carriage in Norfolk. Sandy was delighted at the birth of her grandchildren, spending countless hours with Maggie and Mason, and ensuring they knew how much she loved them.

Beloved wife of Mark A. Muse.

Loving mother of Evan A. Muse of North Attleborough and Casey M. Muse of North Oxford.

Cherished grandmother of Maggie Muse, Mason Muse, and Lilly Usher.

Sister of the late David Carberry and his late wife, Louise, and the late Laurie Cole and her surviving husband, Donald, of Florida.

Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
