Sheila Ann O'Malley

June 17, 1944 — November 26, 2018

Sheila Ann O’Malley, age 74, passed away peacefully in the Norwood Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on June 17, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary E. (Meyer) O’Malley.  She was raised in East Walpole, attending the Bird School, before graduating from Walpole High School with the Class of 1962.  While in high school, Sheila worked at the A&P in Walpole Center and after graduation, she took a secretarial position at Hollingsworth and Vose in East Walpole.  A couple of years later, Sheila took a secretarial position with Factory Mutual in Norwood.

A close friend of Sheila worked for Dr. Packard and offered her job to Sheila after her marriage.  Sheila gladly accepted the position and later enrolled in Forsythe Dental School in Boston.  She worked for many years in Dr. Packard’s Office as a dental assistant, hygienist, and office manager.  Once Dr. Packard retired, Sheila returned to Factory Mutual, working as a legal secretary.  She retired from FM Global in 2007 after thirty years of dedicated service as the head legal secretary.

Sheila was a dedicated member of her community, always offering a helping hand to anyone in need.  She volunteered at Rosie’s Place, the Pine Street, Inn, the Wrentham State School, and at Saint Mary’s Church in East Walpole, teaching CCD and oversaw the confirmation classes.  Sheila also helped silently too, helping those in need with bills, writing letters for those who needed help, and donating toys to the VA in West Roxbury.

Most of all, Sheila was dedicated to her family.  She loved spending time with those she loved at the family’s summer home in Marshfield and as a devoted daughter, she lovingly cared for both of her parents as they grew older.  She will always be remembered for her loving generous ways as well as the beautiful poems that she leaves behind.

Devoted daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. (Meyer) O’Malley.
Loving sister of Dennis J. O’Malley of East Walpole, Maureen C. Dionne and her husband Joseph of Yarmouth, and Kathleen Tetrault and her husband William of Marshfield.
Cherished aunt of Jessica Garretson and Paul McAleer of Vermont, Sarah Garretson and Michael DeCoste of Carver, William Tetrault of Marshfield, Melanie Tetrault and Carson Cruz of Marshfield, and John Tetrault of Marshfield and great aunt of Lennon Mae Cruz.
