Stephen David "Elboy" "Stevie" Ellis, age 67, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home in Walpole, Massachusetts. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on January 24, 1959, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Ann Catherine (Dalton) Ellis. Stevie was raised in Walpole, where he graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1977.
Following his graduation, Stevie enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, proudly serving his country. He served as a combat engineer with the First Marines, earning the rank of Lance Corporal. Stevie was stationed primarily on the west coast, spending time in San Francisco and Hawaii, in addition to serving five months at sea. He was honorably discharged in May of 1981, returning home to Walpole.
Upon his return home, Stevie began his career in the plastering trade, taking a position with Kenny Cochrane. His career lasted several decades, working alongside friends Bob Lull and Liam Coyne. Stevie had a strong attention to detail, making sure every job was completed perfectly, leaving behind many satisfied customers.
When he wasn't hard at work, Stevie enjoyed kicking back and relaxing with friends. His social calendar was always full, whether spending time with family or friends, Stevie always brought a smile to everyone's face.
Devoted son of the late Charles T. "Chic" and Ann Catherine (Dalton) Ellis.
Loving brother of Edward F. Ellis of Walpole, Cheryl Ann McHugh and her husband, Michael, of Foxborough, Timothy Ellis and his wife, Lucy, of Plainville, the late Ann Marie Gagliardi and her late husband, Albert, and the late Charles Ellis and his surviving wife, Nancy, of North Carolina.
Cherished uncle of Louisa, Serafina, Christina, Casey, Charlie, Maureen, Colleen, Timothy, Benjamin, Sarah, and the late John.
At the request of Stevie's family, all services will take place privately.
