Stephen Gerard LeVangie, Sr., age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 8, 1948, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret (Quill) LeVangie.
He attended St. Anne’s Catholic school in Readville, MA and later graduated from Dedham High School.
Steve married his long-time sweetheart, Patricia A. “Patty” Brolin, on May 7,1972, at Saint Mary's Church in Dedham. The young couple made their home in Norwood and later Dedham MA, welcoming three children, Heidi, Michelle, and Stephen.
Steve crafted his love for culinary arts in the North End of Boston. Steve’s passion for cooking—especially his cherished papa sauce—brought joy to countless family gatherings. He then attended Sylvania tech and became a certified electrical technician and worked for many years in the technology field.
Steve had a passion for all New England Sports. He enjoyed many summers on the beach soaking up the sun and he especially loved spending time on the golf course. One of his greatest delights was attending his children and grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, where he was always their loudest and most loyal supporter.
Beloved husband of Patricia A. "Patty" LeVangie.
Loving father of Heidi A. White and her husband Thomas of Norwood, Michelle M. Kirrane and her husband Kevin of Melbourne, Florida, and Stephen G. LeVangie, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Millis.
Cherished grandfather of Brittaney Browne, Lyndsey Hogan and her husband Brian, Evan Kirrane, Jaclyn Kirrane, Ryan LeVangie, and Caleb LeVangie; and great grandfather of Harper Hogan.
Brother of Ellen O'Connor of Cape Cod, Michael LeVangie and his wife Sandy of Hopkinton, and the late Thomas LeVangie.
Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Steve's visitation on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. His funeral service and interment will take place privately.
