Tore Udahl

Tore Udahl, age 64, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home in East Walpole, Massachusetts surrounded by his loving family. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 11, 1959, he was the son of Svein and Grete Udahl. Tore was raised in Norway, where he graduated from Videregående Skolen in 1979. A year later he returned to the United States, enrolling in Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, earning his Bachelor's Degree in 1983.

While attending college, Tore met his wife-to-be, Kelly A. Cuomo. After spending two years in Norway, the couple returned to the United States, where they were married on July 19, 1987, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. Returning to his education, Tore enrolled in Northeastern University's MBA program, earning his Master's Degree in 1991. Following his graduation, Tore took a position with State Street in Quincy. Tore and Kelly made their home together in East Walpole, welcoming three children, Elisabeth, Erik, and Kristine. While he enjoyed the corporate world for a number of years, Tore's love for the outdoors drew him to a career with the United States Postal Service, working as a mail carrier. He loved walking his route and interacting with everyone he saw along the way, right through his retirement in January of 2023.

For Tore, walking was something that he truly enjoyed, putting many miles on his shoes, and venturing down many paths at Bird Park in East Walpole or Borderland State Park in Easton. When snow blanketed his favorite trails, Tore strapped his skis to his feet, keeping his stride strong while crossing the fresh powder.

Throughout his life, Tore loved traveling home to Norway, visiting his parents and siblings. He enjoyed spending time with all his nieces and nephews, forming a wonderful bond with the next generation of Udahl's.

Back at home in East Walpole, Tore looked forward to spending time outside his house, first contemplating a DIY project before completing it, usually with a trip or two to Home Depot. At the end of a long day, Tore enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins, a soccer match, or Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, always with a big bowl of Neapolitan ice cream and a smile on his face.

Beloved husband of Kelly C. Udahl.

Loving father of Elisabeth Udahl of Waltham, Erik P. Udahl of Winthrop, and Kristine M. Udahl of East Walpole.

Devoted son of Grete Udahl of Norway and the late Svein Udahl.

Cherished brother of Dag Udahl and his wife, Marit, of Norway, Brede Udahl and his wife, Ingvild, of Norway, and Hilde Udahl and her husband, Lars Thomas, of Norway.

Treasured uncle of Karine and her partner, Stian, Mathias, Henrik, Marielle and her husband, Mikkel, Jacob, Maren Cecilie, and Emilie; and great uncle of Lucas.
