William J. Maloney, III

William J. “Billy” Maloney, III, age 67, formerly of Walpole, Massachusetts, unexpectedly passed away on July 27, 2023 in Apex, North Carolina. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on February 9, 1956, he was the son of the late William J. and Claire J. (Delaney) Maloney.

Billy was raised in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1975. Upon graduation, Billy enlisted the United States Army, proud to serve his country. He was stationed in California, where he gained the skills to work as an Army mechanic. Billy specialized in tank mechanics, constantly providing maintenance and service to the vehicle’s many systems, ensuring it was fit for combat and would protect the soldiers within.

Four years after enlistment, Billy returned to his hometown of Walpole, Massachusetts, where he built a life for himself as a carpenter and business owner.

In 1993, Billy moved his family and his carpentry business to the beautiful state of North Carolina. Billy’s business thrived and his family expanded in the Tar Heel State. He lived there for the rest of his life, most recently in Apex, North Carolina.

Although Billy lived in North Carolina, he was still a New Englander through and through, cheering on his favorite Patriots football team from afar and rarely missing an opportunity to watch a game on TV. Billy also enjoyed watching action movies and sharing his favorites with family and friends.

Loving father of Joseph Paquette, and his wife Lauren, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and Shannon Maloney of Cary, North Carolina.
Cherished grandfather of Michaelah and Ethan Paquette of Waxhaw, North Carolina.

Walsh, and her husband Jerry, of Norfolk, Paula J. Maloney of Wrentham, Kristine J. Maloney, and her husband John, of South Walpole, and Dennis J. Maloney of Foxboro.
