Louise Marie (Leo) Walsh

August 18, 1924 ~ January 23, 2020 (age 95)

Louise Marie (Leo) Walsh, age 95, passed away peacefully in the Norwood Hospital on Thursday, January 23, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Leo.  She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, before taking a job as a seamstress, helping to support her family and later began working as an operator for New York Bell.
Louise married her beloved husband, William Joseph Walsh, on January 26, 1957.  Together they made their home in Brooklyn, where Louise took on the role of a homemaker, raising and caring for her young family.  In 1970, Louise moved their family to West Roxbury, Massachusetts, after William received a job transfer.  As her two girls, Lynn and Karen, began school, Louise returned to work, taking a part-time position with CVS and later worked in various nursing homes in the Boston area.  She went on to take a position with the Faulkner Hospital in Boston with the housekeeping department, where she remained until her retirement in 1989.  More recently, in 2005, Louise settled into her daughter, Lynn’s, home to be closer to her grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Louise had a love for the ocean.  After settling in West Roxbury, Louise looked forward to summer trips to Cape Cod, first spending time in South Dennis and later in Orleans.  Back at home, Louise enjoyed working in her garden and loved hosting the holidays, making enough food to feed the entire neighborhood.  She enjoyed her quiet time too, reading one of several books in the course of a week or crafting Christmas ornaments and wreaths for her family and friends.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who could always bring a smile to her face.
Beloved wife of the late William Joseph Walsh.
Loving mother of Lynn A. Logan and her husband, Dan of East Walpole and Karen A. Walsh of West Roxbury.
Cherished grandmother of Brian, Joseph, Michael, and William Logan.
Sister of the late Anthony Leo, Mary Grande, John Leo, Frank Leo, and Irene Smith.
Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
All services will be private at the request of Louise’s family, with interment taking place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: A-T Ease Foundation 5032 La Guardia Place Suite 404 New York, New York 10012.  Arrangements by James H.
